466 million people around the world live with hearing disabilities and rely on captions while watching movies. Yet, in the 50 years since its introduction, closed captioning hasn’t really evolved.
FCB Chicago, in partnership with the Chicago Hearing Society, created Caption With Intention—a dynamic captioning system designed to better convey the magic of cinema for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community.
The project was recognized by the Oscars and helped the field of captioning with an Academy Award of Merit.
